What is backlapping?

The term "backlapping" is derived from the movement of the abrasive paste, which is counter to the normal direction of rotation of the reel mower blades. This backlapping motion causes the grinding paste to abrade and smooth the cutting surfaces of the blades, resulting in sharper cutting performance.
